I’ve got some bad news…

I’ve got some bad news…

As you can see I’m sitting in my Dr. Evil armchair, and it kinda looks like I’m about to deliver an internationally ‘broadcasted’
‘I’m-about-to-destroy-the-world-with-my-gigantic-death-ray-laser-beam-if-all-the-world’s-leaders-don’t-suck-it-up-pool-their-resources-and-pay-my-$5,000-ransom’ speech.

Yup – That would be bad news… I mean good grief… Where are world leaders gonna find 5,000 spare dollars??

Anyhow that’s not the bad news I got for ya… At least not today πŸ™‚

It’s about something else.

Click play, watch the video update and then listen to the song I’m playing AFTER the news update and tell me if you recognize it. πŸ™‚

Talk soon… Back to my top secret, evil mountain lair… Uh… Office.

– Alex
P.S. Oh yeah… If you guys dig the song, and want a step by step breakdown post a comment and let me know. I’ll see what I can do πŸ˜‰

    1. Hey Dave, cool man! I can’t wait either πŸ™‚ LOL I feel like a kid who has been working his entire school year on a science project for show and tell hahah…

      1. Alex, I’m sure your FBF course is going to be worth the wait, big time. Your BGS course has worked a treat for me, and going forward I’ll be following your teaching outputs with great interest. Keep it coming, and more power to your bass-playing elbow!
        Ian

    2. …When I grow up, I wanna be just like you…lol. I’m can’t wait and I’m sure the Fretboard Formula will get me a step closer bro….

    3. Yes I would like the song to play with. I really enjoy your bass licks and wish I could play like that. Maybe some day, if I keep trying. Rich

    4. Hey Alex,

Man, you are doing a great job with sharing your knowledge with us and I really appreciate it. Keep up the great work!

      Rick

  1. Alex,

As long as the Fretboard Formula Course is priced under $500.00, I want it (smile). You have not let me down yet. Looking forward to the launch.

    1. Martin, thanks for your vote of confidence… i really do appreciate it! – i promise to make every effort to continue to not to let you guys down with anything i do.

    1. Tommy, i really appreciate your (and all you guys’) understanding… you guys really are the BEST!

It is really a relief to know that folks can see that I truly do LOVE what I do and love helping you guys and not holding back – I guarantee that the delay really is for *no other reason* than that I want to deliver on the trust you guys put in me.

In the last month alone I took what seemed like an outright crazy decision to take about 50% of the already *finished product* (I’m taking about stuff that was already on master DVDs), ditched it and started from scratch on those sections again to make so that the info was as clear and step by step as I could make it.

Most ‘marketers’ reading this would say I’m a total moron for taking content that was already rock solid and trashing it. Well what can I say?

Like you said – The couple weeks will be worth it!

      Thanks again bro!

      Alex

  2. I cannot wait sign me up today my brother, that is what I am looking for and YES that is what I want. You make me want to play, your info and your knowledge and style of play is very good and tight and smoot . Thank you for showing the true secrets .

    1. Hey Alex… (hmm cool name πŸ˜‰

glad you’re on board bro! A million thanks for your continued support and for your faith… I am only too happy that you’ve found the content useful!

      I’ll keep you posted!

    2. Hi Alex,
There’s a saying that I have tried to live my life on; The journey of a 1000 miles always beginnings with the first footstep.. When it comes to ideas, they grew and develop, as is the Fretboard Formula idea, there is another saying that I use, All good things come to them that are patient.. Take as long as you need to develop that idea. Maybe release it in stages would help.
And talking of ideas, I dig the cords on bass, and I was wondering if you know of anybody who uses cords on bass. I was thinking of getting one of those pedals that sustain notes and trying that and play regular bass notes over the top.. Have you ever heard anybody do that before..? Not recorded, but live..

Thanks for the great work and ideas that you have continued to give me,

      Sky

  3. Great Alex, just GREAT! I can’t wait to get my hands on your new course. I am becoming concerned though; you mentioned that you think that the initial supply will run out very quickly. Does this mean it is going to be difficult for me to secure myself a copy on release day?

I was so excited for the 27th, but I know your a perfectionist, and to be honest, I was expecting this to become delayed a bit. Hope all is going according to your evil master plan! Eagerly Waiting,

    David King

    1. Hey David, thanks for the comment and your understanding man… Yeah bro I was kinda expecting it to be delayed too LOL… I’m not clowning you guys… I really truly am just trying to make sure everything is right, the content is complete and that stuff goes (technically) smoothly on launch day.

about the sell out it is kinda difficult to say… I really don’t know what will happen but let’s put it like this – one of the other reasons I had to push it back was because the first short run supply I had planned was gonna be a joke i think.

but again I’m not yanking your chain – I really do appreciate you bro and thanks for the continued support!

      Alex

  4. Me too! Its fantastic Alex GIMMY GIMMY GIMMY I want it all sign me up now. Alex you are the best and your teaching is fantastic, I have never learnt so much since I started your BGS course and you videos here at the blog. Just keep them coming bro!

    Eugene.

    1. yo Gene, thanks man! your kind words and support are really appreciated…

I am truly proud that you’ve seen results you can be proud of with my stuff… It’s no doubt that some people would think that I’m just trying to yank $50 off of folks… So having customers like you guys who know the truth is a real blessing!

      Stay good!

      Alex

  5. Hey Alex, I’m really looking foreward to the release of Fretboard Formula. I’ve learnt a lot from your BGS course and am looking foreward to learning a lot more so keep up the good work

    Regards
    Alan

  6. Hi Alex,

So today is the 27th and it’s “LAUNCH DAY”, not! πŸ™ (Lunch bag let down!!!)

But wait, now it’s going to be even better!!! You’re a tease Alex ;o)))) I know from your other products, it will be well worth the wait! Can’t thank you enough for the 150% effort you put into your courses and as I’ve said before, even the “FREE” stuff you let out of the bag is awesome in itself!

BTW, I haven’t recieved any email updates from you for awhile :-O Can you please check that your email list includes my new email?? It does show up correctly at the bottom of this comment section, but I bought your course through my old address and I want to make sure I’m still in the loop!!!

    Rob from Canada! eh!

  7. Ciao Alex from Italy
Well from 27 aug to 3 sep not a big deal isn’t?Can’t wait anyway…
Remember you promised in groove suck video to put also one
on how you train on timing…ok??
    Rocco

    1. Hey Rocco, glad you’re excited – I am too πŸ™‚ don’t worry it’ll be worth the wait. About the other video sure I remember – It’s just that I’ve been crazy busy with Fretboard Formula but more stuff I always in the pipeline bro.

      Take care.

      Alex

  8. I can’t wait to get my hands on this, good bass player even if your not a lefty like me πŸ˜€ Great video Alex.
    Catch you soon
    Paul

  9. Alex, I’m loving that groove. I’m looking forward to the fretboard formula. That tune was hot……

It’s good to see that musicianship is still alive and kickin…….

    1. hey man thanks – appreciate the kind words… i’m ‘counting the votes’ to see how many people want the breakdown, so may be doing that for you guys…

      stay cool man,

      Alex

  10. Before some months I ordered your course and even then new it was worth. Now I see that I was completely right! No one of my friends in Greece can really play bass. They just scratch two notes or learn some tabs and they’re proud of it…this lesson didn’t just help me master the fretboard and start creating my lines. It change all the way I was thiking about music and gave me equipment for the work I want to do for the future. For this Alex,I owe you a great THANKS!!!

  11. Thanks for the update Alex. Just received my DVD and am diving into at present. Also starting viewing the basslessons4free.com in anticipation of the fretboard formula release.

Question: Does the cost for the fretboard formula take into consideration the prior purchase of your training lessons?

Going to be a kewl fall as novice ~ though like many other subscribers ~ the overall concepts pull together easily in creating a positive practice experience.

Project over the labor day weekend is to clean, create a regular playing area.

Look forward in hearing from you. Have a great holiday weekend.

    Mark

  12. Sounds Great Alex! I’ve passed up on your system before, and once I missed one of your specials but I’m not gonna miss out this time. Thanks!

  13. Magnifico!!!! I have learned so much from your Bass Guitar Secrets course. I’m looking forward to the Fretboard Formula Course.

  14. I am very interested in adding that to my bass playing. Please, please, please send me the step by step breakdown. You are truly a blessing to bass playing. You do your thing with so much class. I thank God everyday that he sent you my way. I have not thought of trying anybody else since. I can tell you this. As long as I am able to learn and play the bass guitar, you have me as a lifetime customer. And I mean it. I was 50 years old when I decided to learn because My little church could not afford a player. I am now 53 and I have been getting so many compliments since using your techniques. God bless.

  15. If I could play half that smooth at the age of 63 I will walk out to Texas to shack your hand. Ok ride….. Tom

  16. Alex,

OK, include me in…”If you guys dig the song, and want a step by step breakdown post a comment and let me know. I’ll see what I can do”

    Thanks,
    Don

  17. Alex, man this sounds so exciting. I can’t wait to get with it. I’ll keep an eye out on my e-mails… Take care and keep up the good work Alex. You’re tops on my list…

  18. Love the songs Alex and can’t wait for the new course, glad you decided to take time and get it right. How will this new course fit in with the BGS course I’m currently working on? Will it work side by side with the BGS course, replace it or be something to continue learning from once the other course is completed?

    Keep up the good work!!

    1. Hi Martin, great question! The new course will certainly be 100% complimentary to BGS, but at the same time not dependent on BGS.

Let me explain… BGS covers in great detail main aspects of playing bass and coming up with nice bass lines through an understanding of what is going on in the music.

What the fretboard formula will now do is zoom in on the specific element of understanding your fretboard as a bassist… With this deeper understanding you will find that the concepts in BGS (Bass Guitar Secrets) take on a new light.

      Think of it like this…

So the focus of FF (Fretboard Formula) is narrower… But goes a lot deeper.

The nice thing is if you already have BGS you’ll appreciate FF like crazy… If you don’t have BGS however it does not mean you won’t get the concepts in FF because I cover in totality what is needed to understand the specifics of the fretboard…

So even players who don’t think they need BGS but want some more clarity on understanding the fretboard would dig the fretboard formula’s content.

      Hope this helps… Stay cool

      Alex

  19. Cant wait till i can get my fingers on the Fretboard Formula Course. Until then that step by step breakdown of that little master piece sounds great!!
    Thanks!

  20. Great stuff!

I have to say that one of the best tips that I received from your course is knowing “my space”. I don’t have the urge to “walk” on the drums or other guitarists, etc. that I might have done before….ok…that I did before! The band is appreciative and it gives us a much tighter sound.

One thing, I never figured out how to use the Fretboard Genius thing that you sent with your first course. I couldn’t find instructions and it moved so fast that I couldn’t keep up. Is there instructions and/or a way to pick different speeds. I would find it VERY useful, but I didn’t find it too user friendly.

Thanks for all you do. You’ve been a real help to me musically and an inspiration.

    Richard

  21. Hey Alex,

Thanks for the update and the song, love that bassline your stuff is always very captivating. Please, please send a breakdown so I can learn it and incorperate it into my playing.

September the 3rd…. I haven’t sleept in months what’s 1 more week!!!!!! I love that you want nothing but perfection!!! I really appreciate the time and work you put into all your material, cant wait. I am a little worried about securing a copy of the formula with all the demand “good for you, scary for me” I feel like I desperately need this.

    Best Regards,

    Sean.

P.S. Any idea of cost???? Ballpark some poor folk like me have to budget, but I need it on the 3rd. Can’t wait till money is here!!

  22. I don’t know if it’s my computer or not but I wasn’t able to see all of the video, it just kept stopping in mid-stream.

    1. Hi Josiah, are you using the newer version of Firefox by any chance?
try using Internet Explorer and see how that goes.

      Cheers

      Alex

  23. I think that it is worth the wait, but i just hope its not to expensive because im new to the bass but it was love at first sight, and i really want to maximise my potencial and play as smoothly and in time as possible, while still having that individual style and special touch.

  24. Wow man, I can listen to you play all day man! Love the solo, I learn a lot from your books and I’m more of a visual learner so I cant wait for your new stuff! Thanks a lot man!

  25. Great stuff Alax. Looking forward to more seeing and hearing more. I am interested in the learning tool(s) and WILL make the investment.
