About This Video

One of the things that used to absolutely destroy my playing confidence, was spending a lot of time preparing for a gig... Intently learning and practicing songs for hours...

...Then getting to the rehearsal and still not being able to keep up with other guys who clearly worked way less at the material than I did...

...But somehow whatever they played (even if it wasn't there originally in the song) just sounded and felt ten times better that what I was playing.

It was almost like my "hard work" wasn't able to make up for their "natural talent"!

It wasn't till years later that I discovered that this had way less to do with "them having natural talent" and more to do with "developing an acquired skill" that I just wasn't working on...

Effort means nothing if you not doing the right things!

In today's video we want to examine why some people so easily seem to just be able to play "the right stuff" on any song they touch...

...And how you can start to push towards that level as well.
