The MVP Videos

The M.V.P. Lessons

On this page you’ll find a shortlist of ‘absolute must see’ video lessons that I personally hand selected for you, completely based on the quantity and the quality of user feedback each lesson received.

In other words, the videos listed on this page are here only because they generated run-away popular ‘buzz’ and real noticeable results for our visitors.

So if you’re not one of the thousands of regular visitors we have here, this would be a good place to start to get yourself familiar with our stuff — Because these are the lessons that people continually rave, are drastically improving they bass playing.

I am confident that once you get a taste of the depth and detail of the free bass lessons I create for this site, you’ll be hooked and will want to watch every last one. {smile}

So here goes. I do appreciate your visiting and really hope that you find some value in this site.

Enjoy!

Butt Kicking Bass Lines in 3 Simple Steps? (Part 2)

Alex

P.S. Be sure to read both the write up explanation for each video and as many of the visitor comments as you can… There’s a lot of value in the write up for each video and trust me, you’ll get a kick outta the comments.

P.P.S. Oh yeah… One more thing. Be sure to keep up the ‘tradition’… When you’re done viewing a video lesson ‘vote for it’ by making sure you post a comment at the end!

Thanks.

  1. Thanks so much for these incredible bass lessons.I feel more than equipped to accomplish a long sought after goal of becoming a bass player. Not just any bass player but one that is skilled a confident.
Thanks again, Alex you are a awesome teacher!!!

    1. Alex, could you please call me, so that i can thank you personally, for all you’ve given of yourself.

You are a gifted educator and provide the concisest & the most comprehensive materials that i’ve ever come across. You leave no stone unturned! i mnypur teaching, as i’m one to complicate the simplest things without hands on tutoring.

I have over 30 books & bass dvd’s (do you want me to list them?) and nothing rivals what you have out there, nothing. Is there anyway that i can thank you in person, i’m located 2 hours south of you in Maryland.

yOU ARE A VERY SPECIAL PERSON WHO IS SO WILLING TO GIVE OF THEMSELF, i’VE BEEN IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS FOR OVER FORTY YEAS, WHEN i WAS ALOT YOUNGER AND WAS STUDYING DRUMS WITH A VERY GOOD TEACHER, ONE OF THE THINGS i HAVE AND WILL NEVER FORGET IS THE SIGN OF A TRUE*** PROFESSIONAL IS THAT THEY ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO SHARE,THE KNOWLEDGE THEY HAVE AND NEVER BAD MOUTH. YOU HAVE PROVEN TIME AND TIME AGAIN YOU ARE A TRUE PRO, i THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO AND ALL YOU SHARE TO HELP US ALL WHO ARE WILLING, TO BECOME BETTER PLAYERS AND HOPEFULLY BETTER PROFESSIONALS.gOD BLESS AND LOOKING FOWARD.
NOTE TO THOSE WHO CARE: WHEN YOU PRACTICE: DON’T PLAY:
WHEN YOU PLAY DON’T THINK—JUST PLAY

  3. Alex,
Thanks so much for your hard work & insight tuning us into this information. A proper practice schedule is what slows me down. I’ve read & watched all your material, proving that following your practice / studing schedule will make me a better bass player. Must learn those modes & harmonics. Keeping the speed at a constant rhythm is what fouls me up the most. Theory is the key I see. As I keep plugging along I do see progress. Your Kicking Bass Lines videos really opened up my eyes. A different note for each drum!!!
    Thanks a million times over…John

  4. Alex,

I don’t usually participate in open comments, however, this is one time I have to step fromthe shadows. I down-loaded the (78 page) manual and egan to read it last nite. You truly hit the “nail” on the head in your explainations of why we fail at self-study.

I will engage myself more in scheduling my practice habits and the things I practice. That is exactly the problems I’m having What to practice, When to practice, and Why I’m doing it.

Your gift is not only your skilled playing, it is also that you may enhance the lives of those who struggle with this art.

    Teach well

  11. I played Bass in a high school garage band for a few years back in the early nineties. I was self-taught and just not very good. I knew nothing about scales and theory, just how to read tab and try to follow along. After high school the band split to go to different colleges and pursue life in general. Fast forward to 2009. We decided to get the band back together, even though we’re all older, fatter and with loads of kids. I picked up my bass guitar for the first time in 15 years and was woefully inadequate. I knew I wanted to do it right this time. I bought a few books at the music store and fumbled through them. Then I purchased Bass Guitar Secrets. In two days I learned more about how to play than I had cobbled together in three years of weekly jamming and daily practice. Your course works and works extremely well! I’ve only been back to playing for a few weeks and only had your course for a short time, but the results were immediate. I ordered Bass Chopz Accelerator and it arrived yesterday. It exceeded my expectations and I am loving the etudes.
You’ve got a fan here and I am grateful that you took the time to create these courses (I can’t imagine the man-hours that went into it!). Keep up the good work!
    Cheers!

P.S. If you’re ever in Utah and need a chiropractic adjustment, let me know! Swing by my practice and I’ll take good care of you!

  12. Alex,
I received Bass Guitar Secrets one week ago. It’s exceeded all of my expectations!
Now all of the other books I’ve bought for bass instruction are headed for the used bookstore.
Is your Fretboard formula still available in printed form, or just with the PDFs?

    Thanks so much!
    John

  13. Alex,
The mark of a true Christian is in the ability to love as Christ loves us. Through your lessons and videos, you not only exemplify yourself in this area, but as a bassist as well. Your thoughfulness and consideration for those that might not be fortunate (financially or intellectually) will be rewarded greatly. You are an inspiration for Christians and Bassists alike!!! Thank God for people like yourself!
I bought your CG-X a week after getting my first bass. Within two weeks, I was able to not only find notes, but play as an alternate in the worship team and sing back-up at the same time! OUTSTANDING WORK! GOD BLESS!!

  14. This is great stuff. You make learning the guitar a joy. I’ll be sharing these lessons with my boys and perhaps they’d like to get into playing bass guitar as well. Thanks for sharing.
